Fixed a bug where TextForge would not recognize some pasted newlines correctly. This became a problem only when the user searches for them.
Added a preference to enable/disable smart insert/delete (an example of smart delete is when you select a word in a sentence then cut it, a space is deleted to maintain single spacing between words)
Optimizations for speed/efficiency
Minor UI improvements
1.5 -> 1.6
Added "Open Quickly..." feature that also allows you to access hidden files.
Improved UI feedback when you open files you cannot write to
Encoding option popups have been added to the open panel and the insert sheet.
Previously, if a character was not representable in the selected document encoding, the document would not save. It was then difficult to figure out why the document wouldn't save. This has been fixed by allowing lossy conversions (like most other applications).
Fixed a minor display problem with background of position count field
Minor fix to preview-in-browser feature
1.2 -> 1.5
Added full regular expression support
Fixed some minor UI inconsistencies in sheets (button positioning)
Fixed UI issues in Find panel
Updated help content
1.1.2 -> 1.2
Preview in browser capability added (somewhat like Dreamweaver's)
Added the ability to create/configure new XHTML documents (somewhat like BBEdit). Note that XHTML, not HTML, is now the W3C (www.w3.org) recommendation for web pages. Because of this, only XHTML is supported. XHTML is compatible (for the most part) with HTML. If you don't know the difference between HTML and XHTML, their basically the same so don't worry about it.
Added a document encoding menu in the main menu bar. This allows you to view and change the encoding for each individual document easily.
Fixed all reported perl syntax checking issues
Fixed the hard-to-see cursor when using a black background
Fixed a problem with displaying the line count
